Giveaway!!

In honor of my (32nd) birthday on Friday, I'm hosting a little blog giveaway! One of my precious readers is going to receive this sweet little Villette Bag for their very own. I love the vintage shabby chic feel of this particular print. It reminds me of a block I might find in one of my grandma's handmade quilts.

Here's what you have to do: Leave me a post about your most favorite birthday ever. Be sure to include some way for me to contact you if you should win. Mr. Kay is taking me on a romantic getaway this weekend, so I'll draw the name of a lucky winner on Sunday.

I don't do these giveaways very often, so be sure to sign up!

Hmmmm, favorite birthday. Not what you were thinking, but still, my absolute 4 best birthdays were the days my children were born. Honestly, I can't remember any of my own, but theirs I will NEVER forget.

My best birthday was my 16th birthday. My best friends mom took me out to a fancy tea shop and had the staff sing to me and when I got home my grandfather bought me a special ring a necklace. My sister came home from college and she had made me a cherry pie because it was my fav but she ate it on the way home because she was broke. We laughed for an hour about it. I had a wonderful birthday that year.

Oh my, that's cute! I think my most favorite recent birthday was last year when my family went to Disneyland. I got to spend a week with my sister and brother in law who live in a different state AND my cute nephew (o: We saw Wicked and I went on a semi-blind date (my mom's boss' grandson) to see a concert and walk along the beach. It was perfect!

Best Birthday Ever... Probably when I turned 18. We went to DisneyWorld the next week and spent 5 days there. We also went to Paradise Cove and I got to take a swim with the dolphins. AMAZING.

You can reach me via email, should I chance to win (katrialy at gmail)

It was my 16 birthday and I recall having all my friends over and we were going to have a birthday beach bomb fire because I lived by the beach it was so much fun and of course we met the surfer down there to hang with us. I didn't get presents but I got friendships!

I AM THE WORST PENPAL EVER. You might recognize that as of my last letter when I asked you when your birthday was. And now I see, that its TOMORROW. I suck.

My favorite birthday ever wasn't mine. It was my husbands 21st. He had never been to the beach, so I set up a surprise trip to Seaside Oregon, where we later got married. We were dirt broke, so we stayed in a tiny $30 a night room that didn't have a shower. We were play wrestling on the beach one night and he knocked me out. I got the worst headache ever. We celebrated his 21st at a deserted ocean front bar by ourselves with the juke box playing awful 80's music. It was the best birthday anybody could ask for.

Yesterday WAS my birthday and it was awesome -- I was completely spoiled by the husband and sons. Just felt loved -- what is better than that? Your purse creations are gorgeous - would love one!

My best one to date, was when my hubby graciously spent the day going to bead stores with me (yes-all day!) and we spent tons of money on gems and stones. Fun- weird present (materials that I would use to make jewelry to sell) but it was quite self-sacrificing of him since he hates going to bead stores!

My best birthday was my 40th. I spent the weekend (Fri/Sat/Sun)at my best friend's house scrapbooking. We went out to dinner on Fri. and spent Saturday at the CK Scrapbook Convention. We worked on our scrapbooks the rest of the time. It was in town so I was nearby in case hubby and son needed me but it was all my time doing something I enjoy and rarely get the time to do. What a great gift from my husband!

best birthday? When I was 26 and we were getting ready to move soon, my husband invited all of our really close special friends that we'd be leaving behind to a suprise party.

I was completely suprised and it is by far my most treasured birthday memory.

Happy Birthday! My favorite birthday. Hmm. I think as I get older my birthdays get better and better because I've given myself permission to celebrate. Buying myself a new bag, some new makeup, a new perfume.. something I've been wanting but to frugal to actually buy.

Love that bag! My favorite birthday was my son's first birthday. We celebrated with family, watched football (New Year's Day), and I made a football cake.

i didn't have very many good celebrations as a kid and a poor young adult, so i really did it up for my 30th last month! i rented a cottage on the cape and invited 10 friends and we partied all weekend and enjoyed the amazing surroundings even though it wasn't exactly beach weather anymore ;) lovely bag, becky!

So I was probably supposed to say my favorite birthday was my 27th birthday when my boyfriend (now husband) took me fishing and presented me with a beautiful engagement ring he had in his tackle box! How did I forget that?

My 31st. My now husband and I were living together and had been hosting dinners a lot. I had no platters and such and scrounged for every dinner. I had asked for platters. On my birthday I got these beautiful Portmierion platters in a garden theme. He had spent a month looking for the perfect pattern.

Our mothers were there and looked at me in horror thinking he was in huge trouble for getting me kitchen items. My mother leaned over and whispered, it's ok honey, I'll take you shopping later. They were really surprised when it was what I asked for.

2 years later we were married and the story went around our guests who loved it so much--especially of him scouring stores looking for the perfect pattern--that they completed the set for us. Every time I look at my dishes I smile about my wonderful husband and my great family and friends.

My favorite birthday? I so don't remember birthdays anymore :p But there was my 18th, where I spent all day at my hellish job and then my mother invited all her friends to my b-day party :p

As a child, and OK until almost 4 years ago, I was always bitter that my older sister had a doll house that my dad made for her. For my 28th b-day, my dad surprised me with one that he made as a replica of my grandma's vacation home! I cried. But all I could think was 'yeah, now I have a doll house, but what am I going to do with it - I have 3 boys!!!!'

My best birthday ever was my 21st birthday. The best thing about it? - That I didn't throw up!
I was having stress migraines all that term at university, and was literally throwing up every single day.
My friends on my corridor threw me a surprise birthday, and I didn't get a migraine that day. How could the day have been any better?!

Happy almost birthday. Big hugs x

Happy Birthday!

My best birthday was my 23rd, because I spent it in the hospital. Sounds strange, I know, but my son (my first child) was born the day BEFORE my 23rd birthday, so I got to wake up on the morning of my birthday to him in my arms! I remember I spent it in pajamas all day, eating Pizza Hut with DH and watching videos. My DH brought my gifts from home, and we celebrated in my hospital room with our newest family member.
