I'm sure there are plenty of you out there who are already familiar with Swap-Bot, but I'm a newbie. And when I say "newbie", I mean really new! I just signed up last Friday. I've already signed up for my maximum number of swaps as a newbie (5). I've even got one all packaged up and ready to mail!
Getting mail is very high on my list of things that I love, right after, God, family and country, probably! I'm also a big fan of making and buying stuff for other people, so swapping is right up my alley.
I just finished a swap called $1 Store Scavenger Hunt. Yesterday, Lil Kay and I took a trip to our local Dollar Tree to find five things: Something you would display; something you would find in a drawer; something you would find in the bathroom; something you might find outdoors and something you would buy for yourself. I'm not telling you what I bought, because I don't want to accidentally ruin any surprises. So, I'm sending off five items and someone else is sending me five items. Can't wait to see what I get and find out if my partner likes what I sent!
Now I'm working on a swap involving stationery. Notecards and letter sets and pens and stickers, oh my! Maybe this will inspire me to catch up with my pen pals!
Sounds like fun.
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh. It is SO addictive. But sometimes I get some really AWESOME cute things. And I really like making stuff....
ReplyDeleteI am a newbie too and I must say it is kinda sad how excited I am about this swapping process-I am a geek :) Maybe we will swap one day!

Newbie here too! Yes, I know how you feel. I myself am becoming addicted to it. :D See you around! - Meian
ReplyDeleteI remember being newbie to swap-bot myself. Although I still feel like a newbie when I read "to join this swap you should have at least completed 80 swaps"
ReplyDeleteof course ... what else?
I'm new at swap-bot too! But I like this blog exchange swap thing!
ReplyDeleteThat scavenger hunt swap sounded NEAT!
I am a newbie to the swapbot site and im already addicted!! I originally started off with postcrossing and now i cant stop lol... Im well up for direct swaps of anything :)
ReplyDeleteHello from Scotland, popping along to say hi (via Swapbot).
ReplyDeleteSwapbot is definitely addictive. I had to stop logging in so I wouldn't sign up for swaps as it was taking up too much time and I had work to do!!
Have a great week/end and hope you have lots of blog visits.
Kathryn
i'm addicted to swap-bot too!!!!
ReplyDelete(I'm cinderella730 there)
I can't stop... i'm constantly searching for swaps on there...
I LOVE it!!!
and LOL... j2fabfunk... I totally agree with your comment.. some days I sit here and wonder if it's sort of sad how EXCITED I am about this swapping thing?!?!?! lol... but look at how many of us there are!!!! so, it makes me feel better about it.. and that I'm not alone. :O) I don't feel so bad anymore!!!
I forgot, I wanted to mention, just in this blog-swap thing... I have found lots of ETSY shops... I am SOOO excited, I can't even tell you. I LOVE ETSY!!!
ReplyDelete(I am MrsGlass there... lol)
I love doing lots of christmas shopping on Etsy!!)
WAY better than going crazy at the mall.. and that I know the money is going to other people working hard with their incredible talents at home, rather than these insane factories, where they just jack up the prices, and most of the stuff isn't even worth the price you end up paying anyway... AND, on Etsy, most of the time, you can get things personalized, to the colors, size, etc that you want!!! what more can you want?!?!?! :o)
k, I'm done... LOL... sorry.
I'm just soooo excited!!! LOL
Welcome to Swap-bot! Careful, it is addictive. I have to scale back during the school year because I can't keep up sometimes while teaching. So many swaps, so little time...
ReplyDeleteThanks for posting about Swap-bot. (I am one of the site Admin.) I hope you have a lot of fun!
ReplyDeleteMy friend turned me onto swap-bot a long while ago but I was at uni in England and not using the post. Now that I'm back home I'm trying to join up a bit more. I'm starting with e-mail swaps and one snail mail swap.
ReplyDeleteThat all sounds fun! I wish I had more money to make bigger parcels, but right now I'm limited basically to regular letters. Post is too expensive for me. =(
I hope you receive wonderful things!
