Severe Weather Event

Yesterday, it was announced that all the indicators point towards a "severe weather event" occurring in the mid west today. It's 4:30, and I'm still waiting for the "event" to begin.

I'm a storm junkie. There is nothing I like more than a big thunderstorm with lots of lightening, wind, rain and hail. Unless I'm driving in it. I've done that a couple times and it is not fun. I'm a born and raised Kansan, so we get our share of storms. I have to admit, though, that I have never seen a real life tornado. And I really want to. Now, I don't want to see it up close and personal, mind you, but across a wheat field in a rural area would be okay.

Supposedly, the conditions are right for tornadoes to be popping up all over the area today. We'll see. Meteorologists tend to get us all excited and then nothing happens. But, I'll be watching the skies this evening for low hanging clouds with a bit of rotation!
